Copy Statement Fees:
For the 1st page of each individual statement; €3.80
For each subsequent page of statement; €2.50
Cross Border Handling Fee:
A cross-border handling fee will not apply to transactions in euro. All other transactions will be subject to a cross-border handling fee of up to 1.75% of the transaction.
Cash advance Fee: 1.5% subject to a minimum of €2.54 per transaction
Government Stamp Duty: €30.00
A processing fee of 1%, minimum €1.27 and €6.35 maximum will be charged where payment to a credit card is made by foreign cheque.

What do I need to apply for one?
To apply for a student credit card you must:
1. Be over 18
2. Provide proof you are attending a full time course
3. Have a current account with any bank for at least 6 months (with an average monthly turnover of €127)
How do I apply for one?
Simply complete the application form and return it to your nearest Bank of Ireland branch, or apply online. You can also apply by calling 1890 365 100.
Is there an annual fee on this card?
No there is no annual fee on the Bank of Ireland student credit card. All credit cards are liable for Government stamp duty of €30.
What is card protection?
Card protection is a type of insurance which protects you in the event that your credit card is lost or stolen. Card protection is an optional feature on the student credit card.
Benefits include:
• One free call to our 24 hour helpline cancels all your cards and orders replacements
• Emergency cash, hotel bill payment and travel ticket replacement
• Lost luggage retrieval and cover for cash, wallets, handbags and driving licences lost at the same time as cards
• Up to €20,000 to cover any unauthorised transactions your card issuer holds you liable for, provided their loss is reported to Homecare Insurance Limited within 24 hours of discovery
What is a CVV number?
CVV Number is the 3 digits displayed on the signature panel of your card; this is normally requested for mail order and telephone order transactions.
How do I pay my credit card bill?
Your credit card payment is set up as a direct debit which will be debited from your account on your preferred payment date you selected. You will have to pay a minimum of 2.5% of what you owe or €5, whichever is greater.
Is there an unpaid/returned direct debit fee?
Yes, a fee of €3.17

To apply for a credit card you must be 18 years of age or over. We apply lending criteria when you apply for a Credit Card and we decide to approve applications for Credit Cards based on them. If we approve a Credit Card for you, terms and conditions will apply but we will make sure you have these before you commit to the facility.

Interest Rates and Fees and Charges
- APR: This stands for Annual Percentage Rate which is the annual rate of interest you will be charged on a credit card. It takes account of all the costs involved for the card, such as annual fees and the interest rate.
- All rates quoted for credit cards are variable except for introductory rates and balance transfer rates which are fixed for the period of time specified.
- Introductory offers apply to new customers only.
- After 6 months from thedate of account opening 0% APR on purchases reverts to the standard variablerate applicable to your card and the standard variable rate will apply to the balanceoutstanding at that time.
- Credit Cards are liable to Government Stamp duty, currently €30 per account
- All information and rates quoted are effective as at 1st January 2012 and are subject to change
- All Credit Card applicants must be resident in the Republic of Ireland at the time of application
