When you open a Bank of Ireland 2nd level student current account and lodge just €5 between 1st June and 31st December 2010, we'll give you a free International Student Identity Card (ISIC). It's your passport to fantastic discounts and services, both here in Ireland and in over 120 countries around the world.
The ISIC card is an internationally-recognised student ID, so you'll be part of a truly global club. There are tens of thousands of student discounts on offer, so check what's available at your local restaurants, cinemas and shops, or when you're travelling abroad.

How to get your hands on your free ISIC card
- Just open a 2nd level student current account
- Lodge €5 to your account
- You'll receive a special activation code which you can use when applying online for your card at www.isiccard.ie/boiapplication
- Simply fill in your details and upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your photo ID such as a passport, Garda card or your school card
- Your ISIC card will be posted to you within 14 days

It's simple. Because in ten years time, you'll still be one of our customers. The Bank of Ireland 2nd level student current account1 is full of great features to help you get exactly what you want from your bank.
An ATM card
You can get cash at over 2,000 cash machines around Ireland. You can do the following at most Bank of Ireland ATMs:
- Top up2 your mobile phone credit
- Check how much money you have in your account
- Order statements to see how much you have put in and taken out of your account
We'll also pay the annual Government Stamp Duty on your Bank of Ireland ATM card (€2.50 per year) or your Bank of Ireland Laser Card (up to €5 per year)3.
Once your card has the Cirrus symbol on it, you can use it to withdraw cash from any ATM worldwide displaying the Cirrus logo. It's just like using an ATM at home and it means you and it means you don't have to travel with large amounts of cash, so it's perfect for school trips abroad.
Laser card (for over students over 16 only)4
If you are aged 16 to 18 years old you are eligible to apply for a Bank of Ireland Laser card. With a Laser card, you can shop and pay for your purchases directly from your 2nd level student current account, and it also saves your carrying cash around. It's quick, easy and a better way to pay.
You can use the card at home or abroad. Once your Bank of Ireland ATM card has the Cirrus symbol on it, you can use it to withdraw cash from any ATM worldwide displaying the Cirrus logo. It's just like using an ATM at home and it means you don't have to travel with large amounts of cash, so it's perfect for school trips abroad.
And if your Bank of Ireland ATM card has the Maestro symbol on it, you can use it just like a Laser card at home. Maestro allows you to pay for goods and services worldwide where you see the Maestro sign.

Text Top Up
No call credit? No problem. Register at any Bank of Ireland ATM that displays the Meteor, O2 or Vodafone logos. You can then top up your call credit by sending a free text. The money is taken directly out of your account. You can also top up using the free text number at anytime, anywhere in the world where your mobile operator has roaming.
Free day-to-day banking transactions
As long as you are a full-time 2nd level student you pay absolutely nothing for their day-to-day banking transactions.
A Teen SmartSave Account
Saving can really pay off. If you have spare cash that you want to save, you can open a Teen SmartSave Account5. You'll earn an attractive rate of interest, so the more you put away, the more interest you'll earn.
Free ISIC card when you lodge €57
Just by lodging €5 to your account, If you open a 2nd level student current account and lodge €5 between 1st June and 31st August 2010, you'll automatically qualify for an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). It's your passport to fantastic discounts and services at home and in over 120 countries around the world, and it's an internationally-recognised student ID, so you become a member of a truly global club.
There are tens of thousands of student discounts on offer, including travel, shopping, cinemas, restaurants, museums and lots, lots more. Make sure to carry it with you wherever you go, as you can use it almost anywhere in the world.
We can't say it any straighter than that – now it's over to you.
Opening an account couldn't be simpler. All you need is photo ID such as a passport, one of your parent's/guardians' gas, electricity or phone bills as proof of your address, and your PPS number. Then simply call into your local branch and apply - we'll do the rest. If your parents/guardians already have an account with us, just ask them to come in with you.
