365 Online SEPA Direct Debit Services

SEPA Direct Debit Services are rights/options that customers can avail of in order to manage their direct debits under the SEPA scheme. The contract of the DD is between the customer and the creditor, so please contact the company(creditor) if unsure of how to proceed. Below is a list of SEPA Direct Debit Services currently available on 365 online which can be found in the Online Service Desk area of the site. For those services which cannot be submitted online you must print, sign and return the form to the address specified. These are marked in a separate table below.

When to use this instruction

Refuse Next SEPA Direct Debit This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland not to process the next SEPA Direct Debits payment due to an Originator under a specific mandate reference, all subsequent Direct Debits will be processed as normal.
Refuse All SEPA Direct Debits This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland not to process all SEPA Direct Debit payment due to an Originator under a specific mandate reference. Until you reactivate all your payments your direct debits for this mandate will be on hold.
Reactivate Next SEPA Direct Debit This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to reactivate the next payment to a specific Direct Debit that had previously been placed on hold under the Refuse All request. Please note a direct debit cannot be reactivated if it has previously been permanently cancelled.
Reactivate All SEPA Direct Debits This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to reverse your previous instruction to Refuse all the payments to a specific Direct Debit. The instruction will be applied against all subsequent SEPA Direct Debit payments for a specific mandate reference. Please note a direct debit cannot be reactivated if it has previously been permanently cancelled.
Block Account to All SEPA Direct Debits This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to ensure that all SEPA Direct Debit payments on your account will not be processed. This block will remain in place unless you send an instruction to reactive/unblock your account to allow all SEPA Direct Debits.
Reactivate/Unblock Account to All SEPA Direct Debits This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to reverse your previous instruction to block your account to all Direct Debit Payment(s), and it will allow Bank of Ireland to process all future SEPA Direct Debit payments on your account.
Cancel SEPA Direct Debit Mandate This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to permanently stop all SEPA Direct Debit payments for the unique mandate reference specified in your request.

Note: All requests should be initiated on 365 online 1 working day prior to the next schedule date of payment in order to ensure successful processing.

When to use this instruction

Refund Direct Debit Payment(s) This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to refund a direct debit on your account. Within the form you have the option to request a refund of any SEPA Direct Debit transactions (available within 8 weeks of the payment) or any unauthorised SEPA direct debit transaction (available after 8 weeks and up to 13 months after the payment).

 

Add or Delete Creditors to Black or White List This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to set up a Black or a White List on your behalf. By setting up a Creditor Black List means that you want to specify all the Creditors from whom you will reject direct debits.  If you set up a Black List it also means that direct debits from all Creditors not on the list are automatically accepted.  By setting up a Creditor White List means that you want to specify all the Creditors from whom you will accept direct debits. If you set up a White List it also means that direct debits from all Creditors not on the list are automatically rejected. You may only instruct the bank to create a Black List or a White List. You cannot request both types to be maintained at the same time.

Limit Mandate by Amount or Frequency This is an instruction to Bank of Ireland to limit your mandate by amount or frequency.  By setting up a limit on a direct debit mandate you are agreeing that direct debit transactions drawn against the specified mandate will only be paid up to the specified limit amount and that transactions in excess of this limit will be returned unpaid in full. By setting up a frequency limit on a direct debit mandate you are agreeing that you never want to pay a direct debit for more than that frequency e.g. if you set up a monthly frequency limit it means that you only want to pay by direct debit a maximum of once a month for this mandate. Any other direct debit received during the month will be returned unpaid in full. Any direct debit transaction that exceeds the limit amount or frequency requested for a specified mandate will be rejected in full.
