  • Can I see my credit card transactions online?

Card Care is an online service for managing your Credit Card where you can view real time transactions and balances including pending transactions, at any time. You can also view full transaction details which can be helpful if you don’t recognise a merchant’s name.

Card Care is available for personal credit card customers and only principal cardholders can register. You don’t need a Bank of Ireland current account to register for this service.

You can also view your credit card transactions by adding your credit card to your list of accounts on 365 Online. Use the ‘Add your BOI Account’ form on the Online Service Desk area of 365 Online or call Banking 365 on 0818 365 365. Please note that this is only available to the main cardholder.

You must hold a Bank of Ireland current account or demand deposit (savings) account to use 365 Online.

  • What are the cash advance fees for withdrawing cash from my credit card?

You can avoid cash advance fees if your credit card account is in credit when the transaction hits the account or if it has a zero balance after the transaction is completed.

  • How do I avoid paying interest and charges on my credit card?

    Pay early

Make sure you pay your outstanding balance in full each month before the due date to avoid interest.

You can set up a payee using 365 online and make payments to the payee.

If you do not pay your bill in full and on time, we charge interest on the full balance due – not the remaining balance. If you do not pay your credit card by the due date, a late payment fee may also apply.

    Cash Advances - Be positive!

A charge for a cash advance is applied to your account when using an ATM. If you top-up your account to a positive amount, no charge will apply.

Interest will be applied from the date the cash advance transaction is posted to the account. However, if your account is in credit and can fully meet the cash advance, cash advance fee and (or) cross border handling fee, no interest will be charged. You may see cash interest on two statements.

    Non - interest charges

Some charges appear on your Credit Card account for a specific service or request. These do not relate to interest on the account. However, if these reduced your balance, interest is applied from that date.

There is no interest-free period for:

    • Cash advances
    • Cash advance fees
    • Cross border handling fees

Refunds from merchants are not considered payments to your account.

It may take up to 3 working days for payment to reach your account so please allow for this timeframe.
