How can I pay my credit card account and what are the time frames?
To pay online, login to 365 online and go to Manage Payees. You can then add a payee (bill). Enter the details below to add your payee:
- BIC (Optional): BOFIIE2D
- IBAN: IE46BOFI90153899943016
- Reference: you must add the FULL card number which appears on the front of your card
All payments take 24 hours (excluding non-working days) to reach your credit card account.
Payment by direct debit
You can take the worry out of paying your bill by setting up a direct debit for one of the following:
- The monthly minimum of amount, 2.5%
- A fixed percentage of the outstanding balance
- The entire outstanding amount
Complete and return the direct debit mandate form to the address on the form.
Paying by cash in any of our branches
You can pay by cash in any of our branches using a Lodgement ATM. Cash payments made in our branches will be added to your credit card account on the same day.Please always allow enough time for your credit card to receive your payment by the due date on your statement.
I plan to travel abroad, what should I do?
If you plan to travel abroad with your credit card, let us know. You can do this quickly and simply on CardCare or 365 online.
Using Card Care
- Go to the Services option
- Select Overseas Travel
- Enter only one location
When visiting multiple locations, enter the first location only. Update Card Care when you leave that location for your next destination.
Using 365 online
Let us know if you are travelling with credit or debit cards using 365 online.

Bring these numbers with you when travelling. Save them on your phone or write them down somewhere separate from where you normally store your card.
Remember, thieves work quickly - so should you. If you lose your Bank of Ireland credit card, or if it is stolen, please tell us IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, you will be liable for any losses incurred up to the time you do actually report the loss to us.
Pay in the local currency to avoid unknown charges
Charges and exchange rates applied by retailers are typically higher and can vary.
The exchange rate used will be determined by the Visa or MasterCard scheme on the banking day we take it from your account. Go to the Visa or MasterCard websites to check the approximate exchange rates that will be applied. A cross border handling fee of 2.25% is applied by us to all non-euro purchases.

ATM withdrawal limits
The maximum daily withdrawal limits (below) depend on the type of ATM you use and the country you are in:

You will be charged a cash withdrawal fee unless your credit card account is in credit when the transaction hits your account or has a zero balance after the transaction is completed.
How can I increase or decrease the limit on my credit card?
You can apply to increase or decrease the limit on your credit card using Card Care:
- Choose Services option
- Select Request a Credit Limit Change
You can also apply to increase or decrease your limit by calling us on 1890 251 251.
Please note: we can only take requests from the principal cardholder.
Credit limit increases are subject to terms and conditions.You cannot reduce your credit limit below your current balance.

You can apply online, over the phone or in your branch.

As a valued Bank of Ireland credit card customer, we want to protect you from fraud. For your account security, we may decline certain transactions that could pose a risk of fraud, so it’s important to make sure your contact details are up to date.
How do I check my balance and view transactions?
You have two online options: Card Care and 365 Online.
Card Care is our online service for your Credit Card. There you can view real-time transactions and balances, including pending transactions.
You can also set up a payment (either 2.5% or 100%) to your card on Card Care.
By adding your credit card to your 365 online profile you can quickly view your balance, payment due date and full transaction history at the click of a button.
To make payments to your card you can add your card as a payee.

How can I report a lost or stolen card?

We will cancel your lost or stolen card and have the new card issued to your address on file within 5-7 working days.Please let us know immediately if you discover your card is lost or stolen. Otherwise, you’ll be liable for any losses up to the time you report the loss to us.
Message to all credit card Card Protection Insurance customers
Card Protection (CP) provided by Homecare Insurance Ltd, a subsidiary of CPPGroup plc, is an optional insurance policy which offers protection to policyholders in the event of card loss or fraud. Bank of Ireland previously offered this product to its credit card customers.
At the request of the Central Bank of Ireland, Bank of Ireland and Homecare Insurance Limited agreed to participate voluntarily in a redress scheme for Bank of Ireland customers who purchased Card Protection insurance before the 1st of August 2011(the “Redress Scheme”). Eligible customers were given the opportunity to claim a refund of Card Protection premiums paid since the introduction of the Consumer Protection Code on the 1st of August 2006.
The Redress Scheme has now closed. Any customers who wish to claim a refund of premiums can do so by contacting Homecare Insurance Limited’s information line 1800 646 518 or writing to them at:
