Debit Card

Debit cards are available to Personal current account customers in the Republic of Ireland. The Debit card allows you to access money from your Current Account wherever you are in the world: in shops, at ATMs and online, wherever you see the Visa logo displayed.

Fees

There may be fees & charges for using your debit card:

Using a Debit Card for purchases in foreign currency
Debit Card purchases (including Contactless transactions)
2% of transaction value
Maximum €11.43 per transaction
Using a Debit Card for cash withdrawals in foreign currency
Debit Card (ATM)
3.5% of transaction value
Minimum €3.17
Maximum €11.43 per transaction

Government Stamp Duty

Government Stamp Duty (GSD) on Debit and ATM cards is charged retrospectively in January each year for each cash withdrawal made from an ATM / LATM within the Republic of Ireland in the preceding year at a rate of €0.12 per withdrawal capped at a maximum of €2.50 per ATM (cash) card or Debit (combined) card where only the ATM function is used, or €5 per Debit (combined) card where both ATM and “Point of Sale” functions are used.
