How do I cancel an overdraft within my 14-day cooling off period?
You have the right to withdraw from your overdraft within 14 days of it being activated. To do this, write to Bank of Ireland 365, P.O. Box 365, Dublin 24. Remember to include details of your agreement such as your current account number. You can also cancel the overdraft by using our online withdrawal form at boi.com/withdrawal. To complete the online form, you will need to enter your name, email address, phone number and current account number.
Your eight-digit current account number is shown on the mobile app, on 365 online or on your credit agreement.
If you cancel, you must repay your overdraft amount and any interest due. This must be done without undue delay and no later than 30 days after you cancel.
If you do not cancel, your overdraft will continue until you (or we) cancel it.
Please note: Your account must stay in credit for at least 24 hours while your overdraft is being cancelled. For example, if you want to cancel an overdraft of €1,000, you must have at least one cent in your account for 24 hours.
If you cancel your overdraft and you do not have enough money in your account to cover fees or interest at the end of the month, we have to report this as an outstanding balance to the Central Credit Register (CCR).
