Changing your credit card limit
If you need more flexible finance, you can request an increase* in your credit card limit by filling out a short online form. If you want to lower your limit, please call our team on 0818 251 251 and they can help you.
Instalment Plan
If you have a personal credit card with Bank of Ireland, you have the option to spread the cost of your bigger purchases at a great low interest rate. You can transfer a credit card purchase of €250 or more onto a lower rate. You pay it off in either 6, 12 or 24 equal monthly instalments. Perfect for big spends or even unexpected costs that might pop up. Please note that the Instalment plan feature is not available on the student credit card.
Additional Cardholders
You can add up to 3 extra cardholders to your credit card account. You only pay one Government stamp duty (tax) of €30 every year.
Warning: If you do not meet the repayments on your credit card, your account will go into arrears. This may affect your credit report, which may limit your ability to access credit, a hire-purchase agreement, a consumer-hire agreement or a BNPL-agreement in the future.
