Everyday banking made easy
Everyday banking made easy
At Bank of Ireland we’re working hard to make everyday banking easier for you.
You’ve told us that you want it to be easy to open an account, that our fees and charges are too complex, and that you want your account to be easier to use.
Here are some ways we’re changing to make things easier for you:
Easy to open
You can now open an account in minutes online using your phone.

Easy to pay
From 23rd November, we’re changing how we charge for our personal current accounts. We’re eliminating 26 individual charges and introducing a single monthly fee of €6. This change will give you unlimited access to a range of services, and is a simple way of charging for your current account.
No matter how much you use your personal current account, you’ll always know where you stand.
Easy to understand
From 23rd November 2020, you will pay a single monthly fee of €6 for maintaining your account. There will be no individual bank charges for personal customers for the following euro-based transactions:

- ATM and lodgement transactions
- Automated / self-service transactions (for example direct debit, standing orders)
- Over-the-counter in branch transactions
