Guidelines
NEVER POST PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA – IT IS A PUBLIC FORUM WHICH MEANS ANYONE CAN SEE YOUR POSTS AND YOUR POSTS MAY APPEAR IN SEARCH ENGINE RESULTS.
Our team will endeavour to respond to your query as quickly as we can. However some queries may take longer to resolve as we may need to contact other areas within Bank of Ireland.
All posts outside of our working hours will be addressed as soon as we’re back online. If you need additional support, you can contact our Customer Service Team on 0818365365 or +35314044000 from 9am-6pm Monday-Friday, Saturdays 10am-2pm and Bank Holidays 9am-5pm. For more information on different ways to contact us please see here.
For some queries, we may require more information from you so that we can investigate your query. On such occasions and to protect your privacy we’ll ask you to send us a private message.
Under the Consumer Protection Code, we cannot formally respond to customer complaints on our Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube pages or any other social media site. If you wish to make a formal complaint, this must be initiated through your local branch, product department or alternatively through our Group Customer Complaints department whose details are available here.
Our social media pages are public, which means that anyone can see your posts and your posts may appear in search engine results (e.g. Google or Yahoo!). You should be mindful of the information you publish online and never post your account details on this page.
We cannot give advice about a product or service or discuss specific financial needs on this page. Where you wish to receive advice regarding any Bank of Ireland product or service, our social media team will be happy to guide you to the relevant department who can help with your query.
If you have a query relating to your account we will take this conversation away from the public domain and help to resolve your query through private message or by guiding you to our digital platforms where you can manage your account.
While we are delighted to hear from everyone, it is important to bear in mind that this is an open forum and opinions posted by other users on Bank of Ireland’s social media sites do not necessarily represent the views of, or constitute advice from, Bank of Ireland.
We hope that these guidelines ensure you have a good experience on our page and look forward to reading your comments, feedback and experiences.
